Coddling the Super Rich - by Warren Buffett

Today, I am going to send you off to another site. An opinion article written by Warren Buffett - giving some facts relevant to taxing the rich as a way of getting our government's finances in order.

That was a great article. He really does pay a much smaller tax percentage than I do. And the individuals are only part of the problem. the biggest corporations that would be providing the most help to our Federal income are the ones who know how to avoid paying taxes through loopholes. Some do it so well that the IRS actually owes them money - multi-billion dollar corporations being paid by us to make a fortune!

As John Rawls argued, people think they have some special entitlement to benefits they've received by morally arbtrary means.

You're spot on. Libertarians, Objectivists, and other market-fundamentalist types think that there exists some "natural right" to private property, floating out there in abstract space. Us mere mortals have to bow down and revere these unquestionable, sacrosanct institutions. Even if it leads to economic destruction, death, and maiming.

Make the bastards pay their fair share.
