What would be the qualitative difference between them and us? If it would be wrong for a "God" to do that to us, it would be just as wrong to do that to them. In fact, based on that, I would have to conclude it would be wrong to create them at all. Would you agree?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02243523751399191317noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16594468.post-4304961258915159892017-04-18T08:03:04.188-06:002017-04-18T08:03:04.188-06:00I am uncertain about AI risk . . . given that I ha...I am uncertain about AI risk . . . given that I have not studied that issue in detail.

One of the implications about desirism is that, if it is true, then an artificial intelligence that has the capacity to perform intentional actions will recognize the wisdom in promoting desires that tend to fulfill other desires. They will create a morality.

In fact, one of the implications of desirism that I would most love to see tested would be to create a simulated group of intentional agents and run the simulation to see what desires the hypothetical population ends up promoting universally.

But these are just surface thoughts. If I actually devoted some thought to it, I may easily discover that some of these initial assumptions are mistaken.Alonzo Fyfehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05687777216426347054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16594468.post-67465407358308042892017-04-16T16:40:37.275-06:002017-04-16T16:40:37.275-06:00What about AI risk? What about AI risk?Doug S.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11918949543315280580noreply@blogger.com
